Just over a month again, Wayne and Springfield High School faced off in a game that led to a brawl. On February 10, the two teams displayed excellent sportsmanship, overcoming their differences to put on a great game.
Wayne, ranked 19th in the DigitalSports National Basketball Rankings, jumped out to a big start against one of its biggest rivals. The Warriors built up a 16-8 lead over Springfield and built it up to 33-19 by the half.
Never letting off the gas pedal, Wayne outscored Springfield 24-15 in the third quarter. In the end, Wayne walked away with an impressive 77-57 victory.
The offensive power from the Warriors spread throughout the team. Ahmad Wagner was Wayne’s highest scorer with 13 points, backed up by Rodrick Caldwell’s 12. D’Mitrik Trice and L’Christian Smith each had 11 points.
Wayne’s next challenge comes at home on February 13 against Fairmont.
